Global Support for Myanmar

Global Support
for Myanmar

Myanmar needs support and solidarity from the international community now more than ever.

Movements such as the Milk Tea Alliance, which is fighting authoritarianism across Southeast Asia, global creatives and celebrities, and nations around the world that staunchly advocate democracy and human rights have rallied behind Myanmar. Diaspora communities have also been active, organising protests and fundraisers to support those back home, and calling for stronger international action.

Meanwhile, the coup continues to pose numerous challenges for humanitarian and emergency response, while partners and civil society organisations on the ground are facing increasing risks to operate and deliver. This complex aid context calls for stronger UN leadership and coordination at the highest level.

Myanmar can emerge from this period of darkness with continued action and support within the country and abroad. There is a need to sustain a critical level of safety until the political developments will one day allow us to shape a brighter future.
